After the amazingness of Wicked, I couldn’t wait for my next musical which was going to be Beauty and the Beast. It was playing for one night only and I wanted to go so badly. So I started inquiring about group tickets. I found a bunch of friends who wanted to go. Buying the tickets not a bunch of fun but the actual day of amazing! My friend Kat from college was down for the week. So we met up with the others at BYOP-Build Your Own Pizza (amazing!) Then it was off. The theater was filled with people in all sorts of outfits. We saw a bunch of college/high school age in prom attire. Then a bunch of kids in Beauty and the Beast outfits. It was so adorable!
My friend Heidi brought her daughter, who ended up siting by me. Pen had never seen Beauty and the Beauty before, not even the cartoon. She was totally fascinated and utterly adorable as we watched. Here are a few pictures that I took with my cellphone that night… No cameras allowed during the performance, not that I blame them!
Beauty and the Beast is one of my absolute favorites! So coming to the performance, I had to wonder how they were going to do the animated objects, etc. It was amazing to see how they made it work. No, it wasn’t the cartoon, but I didn’t want it to be the cartoon. I wanted it to be Broadway and it’s awesomeness. The performance was worth every penny and even better with friends! Maybe we will get a chance to do this again someday.
