Part of the joys of shooting up in the St Joseph area is seeing my brother, his wife and their new-ish baby boy Hayden… This summer I was back up to the lovely city for some St Joseph Engagement Photos as well. I was contacted by Courtney to photograph her wedding this September… We decided to meet up at the actual location where her wedding was going to be held! Sadly schedules didn’t work out to go inside of Castle Bridge Event Center in St Joseph, but the area outside was worked wonderfully… I can’t wait to see inside. Their video tour looks amazing!!! Adam and Courtney were great to work with, even though it turned out to be still pretty hot that evening. I can’t wait for their wedding only a few more sleeps left!!
I’ll let Courtney tell you a little about how they met:
We were introduced by one of my best friends, Kassi. I was just over at her house hanging out and she asked me if I cared if we hung out with these 2 guys that she knew. (She had known Adam for a while now) I told her I didn’t care. We all ended up going to eat at Taco Johns. I wasn’t for sure what to think of Adam at the time, he is 5 years older than me and I didn’t know if he was in to me or if I was even in to him yet. We ended up back at Kassi’s house and sat outside for a while. At the time, I didn’t know he was texting Kassi asking if he could have my number because he was to shy to ask me directly. After he pulled out of Kassi’s driveway, he texted and we started talking for a week or so.
A week later was his birthday and the day before I asked what he wanted for his birthday and he said for me to be his girlfriend ( haha so sweet) the rest is history. I wouldn’t say love at “first sight” but it was pretty close! *aww* (I’m the total commentator!)
And her eyes!!! Amazing!!! Courtney, you have the most BEAUTIFUL eyes!!! And I’m not lying!
How did he propose? Tell me all about it!
He went in to my work Cracker Barrel (I am a server) and talked to one of my manager and got me that weekend off of work. This was very sweet of him to do, I am not allowed to take off holiday weekends unless it is 3 weeks in advanced. It was Memorial Day weekend so he sat my manager down and showed him the ring. Adam told him he wanted to take me away to Branson and meet up with my parents. The drive was fun. He kept bringing up a few friends who just got married or engaged so I was getting a little excited thinking it was going to ask me soon. He kept shaking it off and telling me he was just trying to keep busy on the road trip. That night, we checked into our hotel room and picked up my parents to get dinner together.
Dinner was a bit strange by parents kept acting like they were waiting for something and Adam got a bit nervous. Dinner ended and Adam complained of a stomachache so I took him to the hotel and drove my parents back to their room.
Once I got back to the hotel, I washed my face and got ready for bed. We laid down and were just talking. He began to talk about how much he loved me and wanted to be with me forever. He pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. I was in shock kind of, haha. I kept asking him if this was real, making sure he wasn’t joking or anything.
So in love, so happy, and so comfortable with each other… And look at those dogs! *aww*
