Some days it’s hard to find time off. Time away to get away from everything that reminds me of work… I guess it’s one of the joys of having multiple jobs… (I work at a school, and EMS as well as take pictures, but more on that much later)  When I finally get a day off, sometimes all I want to do is get away… as far as I can. Well a Saturday or so past, I did just that! Since I live in the Ozarks, I headed off to Busiek State Park to hike for awhile. It was a blast… Middle of nowhere on a trail with no one but myself!!! (which can be a problem if you get lost!)  My best suggestion as being a beginner hiker, take the RED trail and follow it!! (Bring extra shoes & socks, learn from my mistakes!!)
At one or two points during the hike, I had to turn around after getting all sorts of messed up… When I got to another fork in the road, I had to figure out which way to turn. I was going on two hours in the woods on a hour and half trail. Of course I had planned on doing this all before lunchtime… That didn’t work but at least I brought snacks & water. 
The two directions were hard to choose… One you had to walk across a creek that got up pretty high. The other direction looked like it curved like it was going back the way I came from.  With no shoes made for the water, the best decision looked like I had to cross the water.
So I did… and in the middle some nice people showed up and told me I was going the right way!!! Talk about happiness in wet shoes and water up to my knees!!!
And (sadly) now I can’t wait to do it AGAIN!!!!!!!!
