Happy Mother’s Day!!!

It’s hard sometimes to know what to say to Mothers on Mother’s Day. Both your own as well as those you see daily. But I hate to break it to you, everyone deserves an awesome mother’s day whether you are an aunt, a grandmother, a mother, a animal-mom, a mom of babies in heaven, etc. A mom is someone who takes care of someone and loves someone. You are a mother forever…

So enjoy this wonderful amazing beautiful day! And celebrate it if you want or celebrate the beautiful day!

To help celebrate this gorgeous day, here are some mothers from some recent sessions… mother's day, newborn, all mothers, grandmother, stepmom mother's day, newborn, all mothers, grandmother, stepmom mother's day, newborn, all mothers, grandmother, stepmom mother's day, newborn, all mothers, grandmother, stepmom

Lost Hill Park | Thorne Family

Family portraits are definitely something that is needed in your life. Other than some family photos at my wedding and my brother’s wedding, my family has not had the chance to take family portraits together. It is hard when you are split up around Missouri let alone if your family is even further.

This lovely family let me take some pictures of them this past fall. It was such a beautiful day! Eliza did amazing… and Amaya tried her best! Even grumpy smiles are adorable when families look back at the amazingness that is them. Ben’s mother was even able to join in some pictures.

Bennett Springs | Christman Family

Last fall one of my friends Brandy contacted me about getting family pictures done. They hadn’t had family pictures done in a long, long time and she thought it was time to. So we made some plans and met at Bennett Springs on semi cold day. You know the day that makes you remember fall is before winter. I met them both when I was working EMS. They both work as law enforcement officers. I had a blast getting to see her and her hubby again!

One of my favorite part about family shoots is what I can get when no one is watching. The non-posed stuff. The real life stuff. They didn’t pose like this for me. They were just that loving toward their brother.

Interested in getting Family pictures done for yourself? Take them before you forget. Message me today and let’s do it!

Creative –White Dress

creative-katie1

Back in July, I bought a new-to-me camera a Canon 5MarkII. I put out a model call for someone to come and let me practice with it. Katie and Julie, her mom, contacted me and had some time to shoot. I can’t help but smiling as I remember this shoot. I had been dreaming about a white dress in the woods. A wood nymph so happy in the forest. When Katie came out of their car dressed like this, I knew this was going to be fun.  katie-3

We started talking about my creative vision of the wood nymph. Katie was all for it! And definitely jumped into it.  We even found this amazing tree… Now for a fall shoot… Must be coming soon… katie-59katie-44katie-45playing katie-52 katie-65

Lost Hill Park Maternity -Layla

Laylababy

I absolutely love repeat clients. The ones who love you no matter where you are in your photography career. This lovely lady Layla is one of those people. I met her when we were EMTs for Mercy in Lebanon. (It’s hard to believe she has a baby now. Yes, I’m that far behind on blog posts!) I love watching her family grow! James (her hubby), Layla and I decided to meet where we did their engagement pictures almost a year ago to shoot her maternity session centered around Where the Wild Things Are…

Lost Hill Park is one of my favorite locations because it’s diversity! There is tons of field space, an old falling down structure, and a little trail down to a stream. Someone told me there are even caves around the area as well.

What Inspires me: Boho

What inspires me? That is actually a horrible hard question. One style that has caught my attention is the “boho” idea. Yeah, I know it’s a super popular style out there right now. However that doesn’t bother me, because this style reminds me of my first love “hippies!” I guess you could call it a upgraded style for me.

I am loving the uniqueness of it all. The randomness that goes together. If you ever met me in person, you will find out quickly that I love a variety of different things –from music styles to movies to clothing. So any style that combines a whole bunch of awesomeness makes me happy! Then add in the greenery! Ah! I love it!

I have an entire board on Pinterest all leaning toward Bohemian — decor, ideas that have that feel and even clothes! I love it. So if you are into this style or this is you, send me a message and let’s talk about doing a shoot! I would love to help capture this amazing style.

Here are some pictures from my board that just make me happy! boho, inspires me, inspiration, amazing, awesomeness, decor boho, inspires me, inspiration, amazing, awesomeness, decor, salt lamp, beautiful, greenery boho, inspires me, inspiration, amazing, awesomeness, decor, salt lamp, beautiful, greeneryshelf, boho, inspires me, inspiration, amazing, awesomeness, decor, salt lamp, beautiful, greenery mirrors, boho, inspires me, inspiration, amazing, awesomeness, decor, salt lamp, beautiful, greenery boho, inspires me, inspiration, amazing, awesomeness, decor, salt lamp, beautiful, greenery, wood tier
