I can’t remember when the word selfie wasn’t everywhere. In this time of our lives, we are always taking selfies. Selfies of us here or there… Or with a selfie stick (which I have but keep forgetting to take anywhere mainly cause it’s awkward!) I admit it, I love taking selfies of myself (haha I made a funny.) and I love including others. I take my selfies for one reason only… To remember me in those places. My mom had given me great advice back in junior high/high school time frame. She told me her favorite photos from being overseas were the ones with people in them, with her in them. The scenery was neat and amazing. In the moment, you want to capture it exactly like you see it. So you can remember that moment. However that scenery is the same one the person next to you is capturing. Make your pictures important to you. But Mom told me to make sure wherever I go to get myself in the picture.
For some reason that stuck with me. So with my film camera, I learned how to stretch my arms in such a way to get me and my background. I remember teaching my friend this day about how to get the perfect shot of ourselves! I think I was frustrating her cause I got that good at it… Even these pictures mean a ton to me, more so the first one than the bottom one. Because it was the “real” behind what we were doing…
I still do take pictures of myself and others with a camera or the front facing camera.Even my hubby will say I got it now to someone that offers. But sometimes there is nothing that beats a decent photo of me!
