About three or four years ago, I hit a point in my weight loss journey that made me want to start having a goal. I mean more of a goal than just a “number.” I wanted to see myself happier, healthier, and more fit. So I threw on some running shoes and started the Couch to 5k program. It worked for a bit, but I honestly couldn’t keep it up. I would run on random days and would stop when I felt like I was dying… I ran a few 5ks over the last few years and told myself someday I would do a half. Someday. Well, fast forward to my methods and my motivation. I just finished the GoGirl 5k on April 9. Just being able to run in it, I found my motivation again. I found the reason why I sign up for the runs. I met a new running friend, Jeannie. We ran it basically together. It was nice to have someone that motivated me and also helped me to keep going.
When I got home, all I could think was I really want to do a half-marathon. I really want to be able to say that about my life. So here, I go with the training again for normal runs. Here I go, looking for runs again. There is an 8k at the end of April that I think I’m going sign up for and take it one step at a time. And who knows? October/November… We’ll see… For now here are a few pictures of me running with a cold(sexy I know!) and my new running friend.
