New Year Plans

newAs I enjoyed New Year’s Eve with some friends and my hubby, I started to think about new years resolutions… Every year I make some type of resolution. I will typically follow them for about 3-4 months and then the world suddenly gets busy. I fizzle out. I hit my stress point. I stop wanting my resolutions so much.

My resolutions have been the same for the last several years. Your typical lose weight, get in shape, eat more healthy, write more, run more. I have attempted them. But they never worked. People have stopped creating resolutions because they don’t keep them. Some people have changed their resolutions to goals or expectations. I like the word “Goals.” I’ve been thinking about New Year’s Goals for about two years. In truth, they have been goals. Things I have hoped and prayed that would turn out. However, there always seemed like there was something in the way.

goalSo this year, I saw this image on Facebook this morning and it really hit home with me. I need steps and I need a plan.  Without those things, I’m just waving my hand the universe saying “I think I might if I have time.”  This year, I want my voice to be heard. This year, I’m shouting it. “I am going to do (such-and-such) by this date!”

I think I can.
I think I can.
I think I can.
I think I can.
I think I can.
