Finding a business book to improve my business and myself has been one of the hardest things for me to do. Mainly because nonfiction books bore me. It takes so long to get into them and even longer to stay interest in them. As I was flipping through Facebook a few weeks ago, I came across this boudoir photographer that I love, Kara Marie Photography. She shoots mainly boudoir. Anyways, she was reading this book- You are a Badass by Jen Sincero and I got curious. Then a week later, bought it. WOW! What an awesome, butt-kicking, amazing book! I just finished it and I’m ready to read it again to make sure I remember everything.
It talks about teaching yourself to perceive your reality different. Choosing to love yourself. She gives ways about every chapter of how to change your life. In the chapter about loving yourself, she says stop with the deprecating humor. “What you are telling yourself on a daily basis is powerful than you know. Seemingly harmless jokes, over time turn into seriously destructive beliefs.” Saying “Thank You, ” instead of countering it with a disclaimer. And always Love yourself.
“Your higher self could give a crap about what anyone else thinks or does, because your higher self is madly in love with you and that’s all that matters.”
“The only failure is quitting. Everything else is just gathering information.”
“Be your best, do your best, demand the best, expect the best, receive the best, and put your best out into the world so everyone can receive your best too.”
Warning-She is a little free with the cuss words, but the book is really well wrote and flowed well. She reminds us that everything is in the world, we just have to picture it and work toward it.
“Life is but a dream. Don’t turn it into a nightmare. Watch your mouth. Decide you live an awesome relaxed life full of interesting projects that you love doing and communicate that to the world and yourself. Then go out and merrily do it!”
